ADAMU GARBA

Adamu Garba dedicated over 35 years to serving in the Nigeria Police Force with distinction before retiring from the force. He leveraged his robust training, mentorship talents, and steadfast work ethic to combat financial crimes and corruption at all levels of society.


Mal. Adamu Garba policing career began in 1981 when he completed Basic Law Enforcement Training to become an officer. He gained further professional development in 1988 through the Non-Commissioned Officer Development Course. By 1999, he had honed strong investigative skills and an aptitude for intelligence work, leading to his completion of the prestigious Advanced Criminal/Security Intelligence Course.


In 2005, his reputation and effectiveness securing high-profile convictions led to a career highlight – his selection for elite training from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation on Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering. Applying these capabilities, he spearheaded probes of politically exposed persons including government officials and executives abusing power for personal gain. His investigations recovered millions of naira, contributing greatly to Nigeria’s fight against graft.


Beyond fieldwork, Mal. Adamu Garba passed on knowledge to rising police talent as a mentor for new cadets. He also manifested top-flight professionalism, earning membership in the International Association of Chiefs of Police over the course of his duties. Upon retiring as a Deputy Superintendent, he left a legacy of ethics and excellence at all ranks that will inspire his law enforcement successors for years to come.
